ABOUT

• Rachel Pesek knows college writing. She has written it, edited it, evaluated it, critiqued it, published it. She has been a writing tutor since 2009 and completed the Columbia TC College Advising Course in 2021. She was an instructor of “University Writing” for 2 years at Columbia University (while pursuing her Ph.D in Literature), has a Masters degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania, and has undergraduate English and Business degrees from the University of North Carolina. She also served as a private tutor at The Princeton Review and as a tutor at the Writing Centers at Columbia and UNC.  

•  Rachel founded College Essay Tutors to lend her expertise to students who need help with their academic writing. She specializes in the college application essay but has also worked with clients on summer program applications, college and high school level writing assignments, corporate newsletters, and once, even a private preschool application essay!

• Coupling her teaching/tutoring experience with an elite academic background, Rachel is passionate about bringing out the best in her client’s work through brainstorming sessions, collaborative workshops, and, of course, proofreading with a fine-toothed comb to add the final polish.
